Let's Go To The Movies With The Avid Movie Buff Journal!

In 1897, the first real movie viewing complex for the Movie Buff was built in Paris, France solely for the purpose of showing movies. Not until 1902 in downtown Los Angeles, did Thomas L. Talley's storefront, 200-seat Electric Theater become the first permanent US theater to show films. It charged patrons ten cents to see a movie.

In the 1990's, over 100 years later, multi-screen complexes were sprouting up throughout the country. The VCR was still popular and rentals and purchase of videotapes were big business, and were much larger than sales of theater tickets.

By 1997, the first DVD's had emerged in stores. In just a few years, sales of DVD players would quickly surpass the sale of VCRs and videotapes in the marketplace. And today, downloading films from the internet is a usual and frequent occurence!

Hobby Journaling Fun & Easy For The Avid Movie Buff can be used to keep track of all of the films you see, regardless of how or where you see them.
